Did you know that the QuikTurnRX® process will not impact your ability to use a recycle compressor for cool down?

First time clients often have concerns about how the QuikTurnRX process will impact the recycle compressor. The most frequent concerns are addressed below:

The chemistry will not get into the recycle compressor.

QuikTurnRX is strategically injected on the front end of the RX loop so that the chemistry will condense across the fin fans and/or trim coolers and settle in the cold separator. This prevents the chemistry from reaching the recycle compressor in the same manner that it prevents the feedstock from reaching the recycle compressor while the unit is online.

The recycle compressor can operate while recycling a high purity hydrogen source.

Utilizing a high purity hydrogen source is an industry-wide best practice during any Hydroprocessing unit shutdown. Even when the recycle compressor may normally operate with an impure hydrogen, once the feed to the unit has been removed and the differential pressure across the system has been reduced, clients have been able to effectively utilize the recycle compressor throughout the shutdown.

The recycle compressor can operate while recycling nitrogen if a high purity hydrogen source is not available.

When high purity hydrogen is not available during shutdown, it is important not to bring in any impurities from a make-up hydrogen that could reintroduce LEL during cooldown. Several clients have successfully utilized nitrogen as a make-up gas during their unit shutdown and cooldown.
